Skin essentials

Hello lovelies ! It's been a minute since I have done a blog post. It's getting cold now (umm finally- cause it's May and I have only just started wearing trackies so global warming is real fyi ) and my skin get's a little dryer like most in the winter months so here are a few items I use consistently to keep me feeling and looking fresh.

Overall my skin is great. Not even going to pretend I have bad skin. Yes, I do get the occasional pimple etc but my parents have really gorgeous skin so I guess I inherited it from them. I do however take great care of my skin and have noticed a difference in how it looks when I consistently use great products, drink lots of water and eat great because, we all know beauty comes from within.
So, this little post is dedicated to those beautiful ladies who compliment and ask about my skin routine.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray

mario badescu facial spray review

So this product is pretty much in every makeup artists bag. It has a cult following and mainly because the brand has been around for 40 years and consistently releases great products. I like it because it is very well priced, smells amazing ( rose water mmmm ) ,is hydrating and I love the way it balances out my PH levels particulary if I have had a busy week and have worn a lot of makeup.
I use it on dry skin straight out of the shower. I spray it on my face and neck and wait for it to dry before applying my other products.
It can be used as a toner after removing your makeup or as a  setting spray but I use it tighten my skin and make it fresh before applying cream. This is definitely a product I recommend when travelling on long flights to keep your skin hydrated (the air con really dries out your skin on the plane and that's why you feel so yucky after a flight). I try to avoid products that aren't organic and I love this one cause it's vegan and organic. Double the yes.

mineral fusion charcoal cleanser review

Mineral Fusion Charcoal Gel Cleanser

Okkk so my golden rule to good skin is remove your makeup before bed. I don't care how drunk or tired you are, you and your skin will both me thanking me for it. I have been obsessed with makeup since I was 14. I wanted to be a MUA but my family talked me out of it saying there was no money in it - side note LMAO I remind them of the INACCURACY of this statement all the time sine MUA's pull in $250 for ONE client nowdays lol. Anyways, if you don't your pores with be clogged for a whole night resulting in pimples and you will have makeup all over your face and pillow when you wake up and that isn't cute. This makeup remover is my fave so far that I have ever used. It works so well at removing heavy foundation and eyeliner. It is vegan and charcoal base so it is really going to give you a deep cleanse. Unlike most makeup removers that are usually alcohol based, I do not find it drying at all so after washing my face my skin is feeling smooth. I have used the same tube for ages now so I believe it is worth the price. I put a little in my hand and in a circular motion I lather it all over my damp face, section by section and rinse and repeat until all my makeup is off.

The only downside to this product is the packaging. The lid leaks so be sure to put it upside down (not cap down) when not in use.

Vanessa Megan Cryo Facelift Ice Cube Treatment review

Vanessa Megan Cyro Facial

I can't always find the time..actually let me re-phrase that- I barely find time to get facials done #mumlife so I make an effort to treat myself once a week. This is my favourite at-home facial. I am a big fan of Vanessa Megan products. She is an Aussie and strong believer in organic everything. Her products are consistently fabulous and Made In Australia so I like to support local. Ok so this facial is like no other because you keep it in the freezer. I use this when my skin is feeling and looking tired. The coldness of the cube is so soothing and hydrating so I really recommend this for winter and if your skin is more dry then oily.
The natural ingredients used also help target wrinkles, stimulate cell growth and boost collagen. I can't explain how hydrated and soft your skin will feel. Highly recommend this for sleep-deprived mums.

It is expensive but you get 8 ice cubes and from my experience you really only need to use half a pod at a time so for 16 facials it ends up being good value in my opinion.

swisse rose hip facial review

Swisse Rose Hip Facial Moisturiser

Last but not least, this is currently my everyday moisteriser. I am prone to mixing up my routine and products with new discoveries but I am happy with this one and am onto my 3rd tube. It is budget friendly, Australian made and vegan. I prefer my face cream a tiny thicker then most but this is just the right consistency. It won't leave your skin feeling greasy so it is suitable for all skin types. It leaves your skin supple and hydrated. I use it on the whole family and I think it is a great product by Swisse.
