The power of music

Romeo was not one of those babies that nap for hours at a time. I don't think he ever slept more then an hour at a time during the newborn stage and good luck trying to put him down once he was asleep.. he would automatically wake up as soon as his body hit the bassinet. lolllllll.
Looking back, I used to get so upset and frustrated that I had to hold him for him to get any sleep and on the odd chance someone else was holding him or he was able to go down I would be rushing like mad to clean the house, wash the clothes, get dinner ready etc all before he would wake. If you are new mum and going through this now I do understand your frustration but please enjoy these moments of your precious baby snuggling into you and needing you and wanting you. Romeo is about to turn one and I regret not cherishing those moments. The clothes will still need to be folded and ironed every week but your bubba will only be so little for a very short time. The newborn stage is soooo precious.

peaceful piano

With Romeo I noticed he started sleeping better when I played music and in particular classical music. One of my gorgeous friends Jac gave me a portable little music player which was great. Then we got Spotify and it is the best ever. The album I can't recommend enough is called 'Peaceful Piano'. Listening to classical music has so many health benefits and is SO perfect for babies. It is also so beautiful.  I put it on when he is feeding so he knows it is sleep time. I also think this will assist me once I stop breastfeeding as he will associate the music with sleep time. I  will let you know how that goes once I stop completely.

Since moving recently, he has transitioned from falling asleep in our room to in his own room by himself. I loved co-sleeping. It worked for us but I would like  a little break before the next baby to have time for my body to completely rest both mentally and physically so I can go into this next pregnancy as healthy and strong as I can be.
I think the  music assisted with the smooth transition. I was so worried how he would handle the change but it went amazing and I am so proud of him and us as parents.

Here are some songs I love on the playlist Peaceful Piano (Pay for premium you do NOT want the ads to come on all the time while they are asleep).
